About Ginger

Experience you can feel confident in
For nearly 14 years, clients have trusted me with some of the most difficult and important parts of their lives. For more than eight of those years, other therapists have trusted me to guide their clinical work.
With more than 10,000 direct clinical hours, I bring depth, honesty and practical experience to the counselling room. I believe meaningful therapy requires more than being a compassionate listener. It requires the ability to recognize what is happening beneath the surface, ask the right questions and help people turn insight into lasting change.
I am Ginger Henderson, a Master Therapeutic Counsellor, Registered Counselling Supervisor, founder and Clinical Director of Ginger Henderson Counselling Services. I also bring my experience beyond the counselling room through professional presentations, webinars, podcasts and workplace education.
Therapy that moves beyond the surface
I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, attachment difficulties, PTSD, grief, burnout, relationship struggles and significant life transitions.
Many of my clients already have some understanding of what they are struggling with. What they need is help understanding why the same patterns continue and what they can actually do differently.
My approach is warm but direct and collaborative, with a little humor! I will meet you with compassion while also helping you look honestly at the experiences, patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Therapy with me is not about talking through the same concerns each week. It is about understanding yourself more deeply, developing greater confidence in your choices and boundaries, improving your relationships and learning practical tools that continue to support you outside the counselling room.
My work draws from trauma informed, attachment based, somatic, narrative, solution focused and Internal Family Systems approaches. I do not expect you to fit within one method of therapy. I tailor our work to your experiences, needs and goals.
Individual and couples counselling
I support individuals who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, move beyond long-standing patterns and create meaningful change in their lives.
A significant part of my practice is also dedicated to couples counselling. I help couples move beneath recurring arguments to understand the patterns creating distance and disconnection.
My role is not to take sides. It is to help both partners feel heard while guiding the relationship toward healthier communication, greater understanding and stronger connection.
Supporting the therapists who support others
For more than eight years, I have supervised and mentored other therapists. As a Registered Counselling Supervisor, I help clinicians strengthen their skills, navigate complex cases, trust their clinical judgment and build sustainable practices.
Being trusted to support the therapists who support others is one of the greatest honours of my career. I believe good therapists do not grow in isolation. They grow through reflection, support and collective clinical wisdom.
Speaking and professional education
I am passionate about making complex mental health information understandable, relatable and useful.
Drawing from nearly 14 years of clinical practice and a lot of life experience, I speak about trauma, PTSD, workplace mental health, burnout, compassion fatigue, relationships and nervous system regulation. My presentations combine clinical knowledge, real-world experience and practical strategies audiences can begin using immediately.
I am available for corporate presentations, professional webinars, conferences, podcasts and workplace education.
